I am so excited for the 2019 Disney sets - the Live-Action Aladdin is coming out this year so I expected one or two appearances from Agrabah's finest. I looked on Brickset over the weekend and I wasn't disappointed.
41158: Jasmine's Petite Tower
My initial thought was that 'petite' was an interesting word to use. It's a very cute word don't get me wrong but it isn't in my head a Lego word if you know what I mean. I have seen 'leaked' lists price it at $10 which usually means the set could be £8.99. The Jasmine in this one is very similar to the one we got in 2015, however she has a different face and a slightly different crop top design. Also, I think she might be in the new medium skin tone, like Friends line Olivia does. All in all I am excited for this one.
41159: Cinderella's Carriage Ride
So this next one is a Junior's set in the new style of packaging that does away with the logo for Juniors and the iconic red boxes and instead makes them more uniform to the theme they come from. The set it's self is really nice, I am pretty sure that is the new-design Cinderella that came out at the beginning of 2018 and we saw twice that year. This set maybe isn't for me but it has a nice use of gold elements liek the three leaf plant piece and the feather as a hair piece for the horse.
41160: Ariel's Castle
This set is another Junior's but it is so exciting! I am glad to see we are not getting another version of an outfit we have had before, I thought maybe it would be her sight-seeing dress but this one is probably better. It's hard to see how it has translated into a Mini Doll but from the picture I can see it is a full skirt but not a ball gown. The use of printed elements is exciting and this is definitely a set that will suit it's target age. 10/10 to Lego for bringing us an exciting new design. I am really excited for the turret in pink.
41161: Aladdin and Jasmine's Palace Adventures
This is one of the bigger sets of this wave's releases and is so exciting. It features a completely different magic carpet design which makes me think this is the one from the movie. Looking at how there seems to be no small elements in the build I am thinking this is a juniors build too. It features several exciting new components like those arched window-doorway things and the snake coming out of the hole - the is also a new bird piece. The main part of the set seems to be on a 8x16 build which is brilliant because it means it will fit in with 2018's sets. This also features jasmine with a different design to the one in the smaller set, which is actually pretty pleasing because if you get both you have Jasmine in two different outfits.
41162: Ariel, Aurora and Tiana's Royal Celebration
I was so excited for this set and I haven't been disappointed! This is a first appearance for Tiana, who is in a normal full length skirt and a recolour of Cinderella's hair. It looks like the design on Aurora's torso is slightly different too. You can't properly see Ariel's tale to see if there is any printing. This set features three separate areas - one for each princess - but they are really really nice and apparently the RRP is £40 which to me is more than worth it. It features new fresh designs to keep people who bought last years Ariel and Aurora set(s) interested. A definate must and maybe the stand-out star.
41163: Rapunzel's Small Tower
I am not sure what is worse - small or petite?
But this is another small tower build. maybe they are going to make it a thing? and we will see one for each princess? The towers are more representative then they are an opportunity for interactive play but apparently they are priced at $10/£9 which means they are super affordable and can be bought and built upon with your own collection.
